Only two of them went inside and filed the second set.Earlier, Prajwal visited three temples—Lakshminarasimha Swamy in Holenarasipura, Eshwara temple in HD Deve Gowda’s native place Haradanahalli and Ranganath Swamy temple in Holenarasipur, where he offered puja to the presiding deities. He then took out a procession from NR Circle to DC office accompanied by thousands of party workers to file the nominations. On the way, Prajwal was greeted with an apple garland weighing 250 kilograms.Speaking at a public rally near the taluk office in Hassan town after Prajwal filed his nomination papers, chief minister HD Kumaraswamy appealed to voters of Hassan not to fall prey to influence of caste in the elections. “The BJP hasn’t done anything to farmers and failed to create jobs for the younger generation,” he added. “We, the secular force, have been working for the people and have floated various schemes for the welfare of farmers and downtrodden,” he said.JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda requested the people of Hassan to extend the same support to Prajwal that they had given him in the past six decades. Asking the voters to correct him (Prajwal) if he goes off track, Deve Gowda assured that he would carry forward his works.Prajwal requested JD(S) workers and people of Hassan to consider him as their son and asked for an opportunity to serve them.More than 25,000 people attended the rally.Bhavani Revanna exuded confidence that Prajwal, who has been working for the party for the past eight years, would emerge victorious with a good margin. “Today, there is a festival-like atmosphere in Hassan,” she said, pointing out to the host of party workers attending the procession.Deve Gowda will contest, seat to be announced by SaturdayChief minister HD Kumarswamy on Friday said JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda will announce the choice of his constituency on Saturday. Speaking to reporters in Hassan, Kumaraswamy said that after Deve Gowda vacated his seat to his grandson Prajwal Revanna, party workers in both Bengaluru (north) and Tumakuru are inviting Deve Gowda to contest from there saying it would further strengthen the party’s base.“There is no confusion in him (Deve Gowda) in throwing the hat into the ring but Deve Gowda is holding it back just to convince the party workers in these two constituencies. He would definitely fight the elections and would announce his decision latest by Saturday noon,” the CM stated.
