He filed two sets of nomination papers. He was also accompanied by MLAs K G Bopaiah, S A Ramdas, and Appachu Ranjan.Simha said, “In the last five years, I have strived hard and given my best for the people. I am confident that people will see my performance and will re-elect me.” Dismissing the Congress-JD(S) coalition, he said for him coalition with the people and working for them is important.Ashoka said, “Simha is the winning candidate and that’s the only reason the party gave him ticket. Across the state, we are confident of winning 22 seats. He accused former chief minister Siddaramiah of creating problems not only to former PM H D Deve Gowda, but also to his grandchildren Prajwal Revanna (Hassan) and Nikhil Kumaraswamy (Mandya) and attributed it to his shocking defeat by over 36,000 votes in Chamundeshwari assembly segment in 2018.BOXModi doppelganger hogs limelightPM Narendra Modi’s lookalike U Santosh Rao was the star attraction of the BJP rally.
