Mysuru: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah on Friday came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying he has become a ‘chowkidar’ for Ambani and Adani, and not for poor people.“The PM has forgotten whatever he had promised in the past. He has come up with a new concept—chowkidar—that too for the election,” he said. Calling PM as a ‘sly’ person, who lied through his teeth all the five years, Siddaramaiah said Modi did not do anything in the past five years. “He never appeared before the media and spoke even once. I have never seen such a cunning liar,” Siddaramaiah said. He was speaking at a meeting of party workers in a hotel in Mysuru.Defending the alliance of regional parties across the country, Siddaramaiah said these parties have come together to keep a communal party like BJP out of power. “Modi shouldn’t become PM again. It is deadly to democracy. In case he becomes PM again, there won’t be elections anymore,” the former CM said.“Both Congress and JD(S) aim to defeat BJP in Karnataka. We have fought each other at the grassroots level earlier but now the situation is different. We have to forget the past, bury the hatchet and work together for the success of Congress candidate CH Vijayshankar. Our common enemy is BJP, we should defeat BJP,” he added.“Modi is a liar. Not just Pratap Simha, all BJP MPs are in the habit of lying without doing anything,” he said.Siddaramaiah said he would tour all 28 constituencies including Mysuru for three days along with H D Deve Gowda.On the occasion, former minister HC Mahadevappa congratulated Siddaramaiah saying that because of his work Mysuru got cleanest city award and not to Varanasi represented by Narendra Modi. Vijayshankar is a gentleman as his character won’t change even if he rises to power, he said.Mysuru Congress candidate Vijayshankar promised that he would not discriminate against workers after his victory and take everyone together.At the airport, Siddaramaiah told reporters that he is not against I-T raids but asked why it came during election time.
