COVID update: COVID-19 testing will be intensified in Mysore says DC

The district administration and police department has decided to intensify coronavirus testing due to the swathes of cases uprising day by day.
In am attempt to increase the number of tests more nurses, paramedical personnel and diploma holders are being hired. The team will conduct a survey with the available data if patients especially those with hypertension, diabetes or other life threatening diseases.
The district administration has appealed to the public to turn up for COVID-19 test on volunteer basis. Police have also warned action of bringing those causing nuisance and bothering health workers under the ambit of organized criminal act.
Deputy Commissioner B Sharat stated that primary and secondary contacts of patients are not turning up for tests and even the positive patients aren’t disclosing their contact details correctly. He further added ‘’this has been a major concern if they get tested it would be helpful in tackling the virus’’.
Sharat also emphasized that delayed admission is one of the major reason for the rise in number of fatalitie. Private hospitals have been warned of action if they don’t reserve 50% of its bed with any person infected due to COVID.
He added ‘’I have undergone COVID test several times. People have the wrong misconception that they would be hospitalized but I got cured without hospitalization. Wearing a mask is the only way to prevent the virus. Administration will resume penalizing those not wearing mask including both in urban and rural areas’’.
