Bandh evokes mixed response; Farmers held ‘’Rasta Roko’’ protest on Mysore-Bengaluru highway

In Mysore while various organizations called for Bandh Bharat,but the public life seemed less affected due to the ongoing protest.

Morning to evening Bharat Bandh directive given by farmers group, supported by labor unions, political parties and the pro Kannada organizations received mixed responses in the southern district of the state.

In Mysore while various organizations called for Bandh Bharat,but the public life seemed less affected due to the ongoing protest. The hotels, super markets and other commercial establishments were functioning. Various government offices including, Mysore City Corporation, Mysore Urban Development Authority were open but the number of visitors were seemingly less.

The University of Mysore (UoM) postponed it’s under graduate and post graduate examinations. Even though KSRTC is operating both rural and urban bus services the occupancy rate was very low. As per the KSRTC authorities ‘’due to low passenger occupancy rate, we are not operating many schedules. Mysore- Bengaluru bus service is affected due to the protest in various places’’.

In Shivamogga, Chikkamagalur, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, Mandya and Hassab, various organizations held protest in support of Bandh Bharat. Roads were blocked demanding immediate withdrawal of all the three farm ordinances.
