Mysore cops nabbed gang of four for transporting ganja

A total of 86 kilos and 300 grams of ganja stuffed in 8-10 bags was seized from them. CEN cops have booked the four accused under the provision of NDPS Act.

A gang of four Kerala citizens were arrested by Mysore cops. The four accused were caught transporting ganja in a four-wheeler supposedly from Andhra Pradesh to Kerala via Mysore route.

A total of 86 kilos and 300 grams of ganja stuffed in 8-10 bags was seized from them. The accused gang members identified as- Mohammed Shafi, Saleem, Ibrahim of Mallapura and Shafi, a driver from Wayanda have been detained.

Acting on tip-off, a police team attached to Cyber Crimes, Economic Offences and Narcotics (CEN) police station of Mysore district intercepted their vehicle near Mandakalli Airport on NH 766 late on Monday morning and nabbed them.

Police is likely to take them to custody for interrogation related to their network. R Shivkumar, Additional Superintend of Police stated that the gang has claimed they have been coming from Andhra Pradesh but it has to be verifies. All the accused are from Kerala including the four-wheeler who too bears Kerala registration number.

CEN cops have booked the four accused under the provision of NDPS Act.
