Gang of nine loots office, decamps with Rs 29 lakh cash

MYSURU: Nearly four days after surveillance cameras were installed at a sub-office of an iron manufacturing firm , a gang of nine members posing as CBI officers looted Rs 29.6 lakh cash from a office in west Mysuru Miscreants have also taken away the hard drive connected to closed-circuit television cameras . A customer too was at the scene. They also assaulted an employee at the office in Gokulam III stage where money was paid for truckers transporting iron materials from the firm in Nanjangud.Vinod, attached to Kyathi iron industry has lodged a complaint with VV Puram police saying the incident happened when their only employee was at office around noon. The employee was assaulted by the gang when he demanded them to show their ID cards, police said.Kaythi industry has its main office in Yadavagiri for transactions and recently a sub-office was opened to make payments.Sources claimed CCTVs were fixed on June 19.VV Puram inspector CV Ravi said a case of dacoity has been taken up and probe is underway.
