Centre mulls Helitaxi from Bengaluru to Mysuru

MYSURU: Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayanth Sinha said that central government is contemplating on introducing helitaxi from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru to Mysuru Airport.Speaking after launching the airline operation from Chennai - Mysuru - Chennai route at Mysuru Airport on Wednesday, Sinha said that they are working on helitaxi service from Bengaluru airport to Mysuru. The Electronic city to BIAL will start within in few days," he said.Sinha also said that there will be more service from Mysuru Airport in coming days. Bengaluru will soon have helicopter shuttle from Electronic City to KIA. "But for that they need 10 to 15 travellers daily flying from KIA to Mysuru Aiport and back to KIA. That connection will benefit the people of electronic city," he said.He said that the authorities of KIA are willing to extend that helitaxi service to Mysuru aswell.

The price will be closed to the price cost charged by car taxi.You can check in Electronic City, from there fly to KIA and from there fly to anywhere else in the world. That connection will benefit the people of electronic city," he said.He said that the authorities of KIA are willing to extend that helitaxi service to Mysuru aswell. "But for that they need 10 to 15 travellers daily flying from KIA to Mysuru Aiport and back to KIA. If that much demand is generated in Mysuru, helicopter shuttle will be very started as early as possible. The Electronic city to BIAL will start within in few days," he said.Sinha also said that there will be more service from Mysuru Airport in coming days. "The bidding for second round of UDAN has started and Trujet managing director Umesh has assured tobid in the second round too and provide more flight services to Chennai and Hyderabad from Mysuru. Trujet will also have air connections to Cochin as well," he said.Pointing on the demand for expansion of run way at Myusuru Airport, Sinha said that: "I think the airport needs the extension of run way and so that it is long enough for a jet plane to land and when a jet plane lands in Mysuru, the people can get connection not just to Bengaluru, Cochin and Chennai, but to New Delhi, Mumbai, Guwahati, Lucknow and other cities in the country. Later the airport if enough travellers can get connected to Dubai, Singapore and other international destination as well," he said.Sinha said that state government if acquires enough land for expansion then GOI commits to build the run way, extend the run way and construct the underpass so that to land jet planes and people can fly to New Delhi, Singapore and other international destinations, he said.PWD and District minister HC Mahadevappa, MP Pratap Simha, Mayor MJ Ravikumar, AAI regional executive director S Sreekumar, Trujet MD Umesh were present.
