Dalit organisations up the ante against BJP leader Madhusudhan

Mysuru: Alleging that former MLC and BJP leader G Madhusudhan had insulted the Indian Constitution , Samvidhana Samrakshana Samithi and various dalit organisations have called for Mysuru Bandh on November 22 (Wednesday).The seer of Urilinga Peddi Mutt Jnanaprakash said that, despite a complaint being lodged against the BJP leader, police had failed to initiate action against him. "Dalit Welfare Trust president Shantaraju said, "Members of Ambedkar Sena have filed a complaint against Madhusudhan at the Yevavara police station in Raichur. "This is why we have decided to call Mysuru Bandh on Wednesday," he said.He pointed out that a seven-day long protest in front of the Krishnaraja police station, seeking action against the BJP leader, had not yielded desired results. We will then submit a memorandum to DC D Randeep seeking action against Madhusudhan.

However, Madhusudhan has refuted allegations of having defamed the Constitution, and tendered an aplogy.Promising that the bandh would be held in a peaceful manner, the seer said, "Members of various organisations will take out a procession in some of the arterial roads of the city. The procession will start from Ashokapuram and end at the deputy commissioner's office. We will then submit a memorandum to DC D Randeep seeking action against Madhusudhan."Dalit Welfare Trust president Shantaraju said, "Members of Ambedkar Sena have filed a complaint against Madhusudhan at the Yevavara police station in Raichur. The case will be transferred to a police station in Mysuru."Shantaraju said that all schools and colleges had agreed to support their call for a bandh, and would close their doors on Wednesday. "This will allow student organisations to participate in the protest," he said.Chaluvadi Mutt seer Nagalinga, Samvidhana Samrakshana Horata Samithi convener Bhaskar were present at the conference on Monday.On the other hand, Dalit Students' Union and Researchers Association of the University of Mysore, Yuva Pragathipara Chintakara Sangha, Danagahalli Vishwa Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar Yuvakara Sangha, Karnataka Dalita Vedike are some of the organisations that have expressed their support to the bandh, and have said that they will take out a bike rally in the city.
