On 24th February 2018, a Mini Model’s exhibition was organized by First Year Engineering Department at G H Raisoni College of Engineering Mini modeling is a credit subject for Second Semester B.E. and it aims at inculcating and imbibing a scientific temperament amongst the students. This year the themes for the Mini Models were Designing of 3D models, IOT based applications, Smart City projects, ISAFE:product or app development for road safety, Optimization of resources, etc. In coherence with these themes around 250 models were prepared by the students .Very good projects like Stick & Shoe for blind people, Safety Helmet, Earthquake proofed building, App for Blood Bank etc. showcased student’s innovative and creative ideas .The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Shashikant Chaudhary, Angel investor & Entrepreneur, Co-founder Nagpur Angels, Ex-President TIE Nagpur Chapter. He was amazed at the talent showcased in the exhibition. During his address he said that creativity and innovation is not limited to age. He stated that the young students can think unconstrained and hence have more chances of being successful in life. He appealed to the students to take their innovative projects to the logical end and build their own startup. He advised the students to take help of available technologies to solve a problem and come up with lowest cost and highest efficiency models.Dr. R A Daryapurkar , CEO, Lars-Enviro was one of the judge of the competition. He advised the students that presentation of their project is equally important and hence students should learn the art of presenting their ideas in an effective manner. Another Judge Mr. Animesh Jaipurkar, Director, QICE, Nagpur appreciated the concept of mini model exhibition which is a better way of judging caliber of students instead of conventional exam.Dr. P R Bajaj, Director congratulated the students and faculty members for their efforts. She advised the students to take their project to the next level by implementing the suggestions given by the eminent judges so that they can create a better version of their models.Dr. M M Khanapurkar, Dr. S D Giripunje, Dr. U N Shrawankar, Dr. P M Daigavane, Dr. D. Tutakne and Prof. N Chavhan were the Inhouse judges. Judges appreciated all the participants for their hard work and creativity and also gave useful suggestions towards improvement of the quality of models.Dr. B. P. Butey, Dean First Year and the faculty members of First Year Engineering Department strived hard for the success of the event. Dr. O K Chaudhari - Mini Modeling in charge proposed the vote of thanks. Ms.Vaishali Rai, student of Second Semester BE, conducted the proceedings of the Inaugural ceremony. Heads of Departments and Deans boosted the morale of the students by visiting the exhibition.
