Gadchiroli cops impart training in compost manure preparation

Apart from cops, a local organization Patanjali Kisan Sewa Samiti of Gadchiroli too participated in the workshop which was organized free for the interested citizens. The compost, also called vermi-compost, is considered as an effective natural manure. In their latest initiative, the cops took up the cudgel to train the citizens to prepare compost manure from their domestic garbage rather than soiling the locality.The latest endeavour of training citizens to prepare compost was one of the eco-friendly efforts undertaken by police department in Gadchiroli after they had undertaken plantation drives and also prepared water pits for stray and wild animals.In an one-day workshop at Gadchiroli police headquarters, the cops showed the citizens how the compost can be prepared from wet and dry garbage if they are separated before being disposed off.

The citizens were taught the techniques of vermi-composting.State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) inspector TC Upadhyay of group 15, based in Gondia district, was the chief guide who was at the helm of the training session after the programme was inaugurate by assistant commandant GT More from Solapur unit.Several women sanitary workers, attached to police headquarters’ housing colony, attended the training session where they learnt how the garbage can be turned into a rich manure for plants.
