Metro region’s plan takes off with works worth Rs 250cr

Works worth about Rs 250 crore are lined up with work on a housing scheme already started. NMRDA has decided to provide basic amenities at Jamtha improvement scheme for encouraging stakeholders. Estimated cost of two works for Jamtha improvement and Hingna-MIHAN road is around Rs 50 crore. He added estimates of various works were being prepared for execution in sanctioned layouts.Tarodi housing scheme is coming up at a cost of around Rs 200 crore. It is expected each flat of 322.80 sq.ft will be provided at a cost of Rs 7.50 lakh.

Nagpur: The Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) has started development of metro region. Works worth about Rs 250 crore are lined up with work on a housing scheme already started. Chief engineer SH Gujjelwar told TOI tender of works for Jamtha improvement scheme, also known as small town scheme, has started.Construction of housing scheme under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) has been started at Tarodi on city’s outskirts. NMRDA has decided to provide basic amenities at Jamtha improvement scheme for encouraging stakeholders. Tender for facilitating drinking water supply has been started. Pipeline line will be paid from Beltarodi elevated service reservoir to Jamtha.Gujjelwar said tendering process for internal roads has kicked-off. Tender for construction of road connecting Hingna with MIHAN has started. The road’s width is 18 metres in the development plan (DP). At present, road will be constructed with 7.5-metre width and widened later. He added estimates of various works were being prepared for execution in sanctioned layouts.Tarodi housing scheme is coming up at a cost of around Rs 200 crore. Estimated cost of two works for Jamtha improvement and Hingna-MIHAN road is around Rs 50 crore. Jamtha improvement scheme (residential) of 2,318 acres will cover Sumthana, Kotewada, Sondapar, Jamtha and Parsodi villages in Hingna tehsil.Superintending engineer (projects) RK Pimple said 3,323 flats will come up in Tarodi housing scheme. “2,374 flats will come up in one khasra and remaining 949 in another one. G+4 floors flat schemes are being constructed. We are utilizing Malaysia’s Mivan technology so expecting to finish works by June next year. All facilities like roads, streetlights, community hall, storm water drains, sewage network, drinking water etc will be made available here,” he said.Coming under PMAY, the flats are being built for economically weaker section (EWS) category. It is expected each flat of 322.80 sq.ft will be provided at a cost of Rs 7.50 lakh. These cost at least Rs 20 lakh in open market in the same area. Workers registered with the state government will get it for only Rs 5.50 lakh. The central and state government are giving subsidies for the scheme.Owner of lands can participate in the scheme. Owner will get subsidy of Rs 2.50 lakh per flat from the government. 50% of flats have to be sold at rates fixed by MHADA and remaining at market rates. Floor space index of 2.5 will be provided in residential zone. The scheme is also permissible in green zone but with FSI of 1.NMRDA also started regularizing unauthorized plots and constructions as per special compounding scheme launched by the state government. Unauthorized plots and constructions within 750-1,000m from gaothan areas will be regularized. Around 4,000 applications have been received as of now.NMRDA is also beginning work on proposed logistics park in 7.76 sq.km at Gondkhairi on Amravati road. Godowns, offices, banks, hospitals and other amenities will be built for transport industry.
