NAGPUR: Infuriated over the deteriorating conditions of the hostels of Government Institute of Science, the members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a demonstration on August 14 in front of the office of Joint Director (Education) at Dr Vasantrao Naik College in Nagpur. Due to the negligent attitude of the administration, the students of the Government Institute of Science are compelled to live in dirty and filthy premises of the hostels. Stray dogs and pigs are usually seen roaming and spreading dirt and filth in the premises thus creating unhygienic conditions for the students. The non-functional lights make it difficult for the students to walk in the premises in the dark. These careless approach of the administration is making it tough for the students to live in the hostel and concentrate on studies. The ABVP members submitted a memorandum to the authority concerned and demanded urgent attention to the grievances of the students. They also warned of intensifying the agitation if their demands were not met in the stipulated time.
