The MP further said that as per the chart provided by the minister in his reply, farm suicide cases in the state increased further to 4,291 in 2015.In a statement released on Friday, Tumane went on to conclude that despite a slew of schemes and measures taken up by the Centre and the state, there was no let up in farm suicide cases and it was only rising. To a supplementary on steps taken to check the rising suicides, the minister had replied that committees had been formed at the state and district levels to analyse the situation and suggest remedial actions. The Sena MP charged the BJP governments at the Centre and the state with failing to curb farmer suicides.
