The Nagpur bench of Bombay high court had directed NMC to hold hearing of all parties before sanctioning the building plan of the flat scheme. Following complaints from NIT and the association, the then municipal commissioner Shravan Hardikar had probed the case and cancelled the plan sanction on December 30, 2016. “It has not taken action against city survey office though it issued documents favouring the builder,” he said.NMC town planning department had sanctioned the building plan of the flat scheme on December 2, 2015. Later, office-bearers of The Process Server Cooperative Housing Society, led by president Sanjay Nakhate, submitted documents to Singh. NMC town planning department then sanctioned the building plan again on May 29.

Nagpur: Municipal commissioner Virendra Singh has stayed the flat scheme being developed by Prayag Developers on Nagpur Improvement Trust’s (NIT) land at Swawlambi Nagar in mouza Bhamti which is reportedly reserved for a veterinary hospital.A three-member committee of additional municipal commissioner Ram Joshi, deputy municipal commissioner Nitin Kapadnis and assistant director of town planning Pramod Gawande has also been constituted to probe the matter.On August 8, TOI first reported that NMC had sanctioned the flat scheme for the second time on NIT’s land reserved for a veterinary hospital. Later, office-bearers of The Process Server Cooperative Housing Society, led by president Sanjay Nakhate, submitted documents to Singh. The latest development comes after the committee, NIT representatives and the builder visited the site a few days ago.Sources said the committee will scrutinize the land documents, NIT’s ownership claim, land reservation for veterinary hospital in city’s development plan and builder’s documents, and submit a report to Singh following which a final decision will be taken.Nakhate said the association was not invited during the inspection. “We are yet to hear from the committee.
