Ten electric vehicle charging stations in city

Nagpur: MSEDCL is planning to set up ten electric vehicle charging stations in the city. “No formal proposal has been submitted in this regard,” he added.MSEDCL plans to set up 500 electric vehicle charging stations in the state. It will take one year to commission all these stations by the time number of electric vehicles increase in the city. The e-tendering process for the project is in the last phase and the work order will be given within a week, the release said.Each electric vehicle charging station will be set up at a cost of around Rs2.5 lakh. Ola Cabs runs two such substations at airport and near KDK College.MSEDCL regional director Bhalchandra Khandait said that these stations would be started the discom’s 33 KV substations in the city.

One charging station is already in operation at the company’s Amravati Road 33 KV substation. Ola Cabs runs two such substations at airport and near KDK College.MSEDCL regional director Bhalchandra Khandait said that these stations would be started the discom’s 33 KV substations in the city. “The locations are Amravati Road, Chhatrapati Nagar, Maharajbagh (2), Wathoda, Dharampeth, Bijli Nagar, Kalamna and Medical Square,” he added.Khandait further said that these were tentative locations which were discussed with executive director (infrastructure). “No formal proposal has been submitted in this regard,” he added.MSEDCL plans to set up 500 electric vehicle charging stations in the state. In the first phase of the project, 50 such stations will soon come up in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Panvel (four each) Thane (six), Pune, Nagpur (10) and Mumbai-Pune Expressway (12). The e-tendering process for the project is in the last phase and the work order will be given within a week, the release said.Each electric vehicle charging station will be set up at a cost of around Rs2.5 lakh. A vehicle would be charged completely in about 45 minutes to one hour at these points. The tariff has been fixed at Rs6 per unit plus time of the day (TOD) tariff, which means that those charging their vehicles at night will get a rebate of Rs1.50 per unit.
