The senior officer voiced his displeasure with the performance of the city police.Currently, around 190 goons have been externed from the city. However, sources said a majority of them have sneaked into the city in violation of the order.The city police had undertaken several drives to nab the externed goons in the past but such measures failed for reasons best known to them. As per sources, police stations are far behind the crime branch when it comes to nabbing the externed goons.Kadam said police stations which issued externment orders are primarily responsible to arrest the respective goons rather than the crime branch. “The cops must to be pulled up for poor law enforcement. Their role is questionable and we will ask them how do the externed goons manage to stay in city,” he said. He added that those responsible would be held accountable.Kadam further said that police personnel should hand over the externed goons to the local police station where they are supposed to be held as per the externment order. “The cops should be updated about the movements and whereabouts of the externed goons,” he said.Externed goons are turning out to be a major challenge for the police. Police said that he was nabbed while planning to commit dacoity. Around a fortnight before his arrest, Pandey was banned following TOI’s report that he had sneaked into court without permission for filing an affidavit.Police probe has found that another externed goon Vishal Meshram and his gang members were allegedly behind the murder of one Sumeet Daheriya in Barse Nagar earlier this week. Recently, externed goon Rajendra Kirad alias Laddu was arrested by crime branch which unearthed his alleged role in smuggling substantial quantity of ganja into the city from Chhattisgarh.
