Chandrapur: The model cum artiste, who had charged vice-president of Maharashtra Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (MSPM), Chandrapur, Piyush Ambatkar with raping her by promising marriage and aborting the fetus, had allegedly signed an affidavit with the accused that they were in mutual relationship and that her pregnancy was terminated with her consent.The model had registered the case at Sonegaon police station in Nagpur, where she lives, on October 20. In the complaint, she had also charged the accused’s father, Pandurang Ambatkar, president of MSPM, and his brother-in -law Amol Raghatate of aborting the fetus.Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Dr Shankar Choudhari, a friend of Pandurang Ambatkar, said they have submitted the affidavit, which the model had given to the Ambatkars, to the assistant commissioner of police of Nagpur city Zone 1 under which Sonegaon police station falls.“In the same document, she has also agreed to taking Rs5 lakh from the Ambatkars for settling the case,” he informed while producing a copy of document. Choudhari claimed the model has filed a false complaint against Ambatkars to extort money. He also ran an audio clip of the phone conversation between the model and brother-in-law of Ambatkar in which she is seeking Rs5 lakh for settlement.The model, in the affidavit, has stated that she had willingly entered into a physical relationship with Piyush Ambatkar, said Choudhari and added that she is already married. She lives in Zingabai Takli in Nagpur.Choudhari also produced her marriage certificate, issued by Ramprasad Maharaj Jayaswal Maratha Dharmashala, Markandadev. He claimed that the model had married one Brajesh Chikram from Chandrapur in 2014 at when she was just over 18 years old. The couple are still not divorced, he added.A top police official from Zone 1 told TOI that they have received the affidavit from the Ambatkars. “Police will ensure a fair probe,” he said.
