Farm loans of 68,000 farmers waived in dist

Crop loan melas were held in tehsil offices every Friday. The district collector reviewed the progress every Tuesday. I kept tab on the process through my Jansamvad programmes,” said Bawankule.In the district planning committee (DPC) meeting, the minister directed all departments who have not spent DPC funds to do so by March 31 so that they don’t lapse. “Departments have spent around 70% on an average. The district is first in the state in spending funds on schemes for tribals,” said Bawankule.“Earlier, Nagpur’s DPC fund was Rs220 crore. However, last year we got Rs650 crore. I am going to ask for another Rs200 crore in the meeting with finance minister on January 19,” he added.
