Nagpur: Budding entrepreneurs should take one step at a time and to not jump into taking risks immediately after launching the start-up in order to avoid future problems, said Alpa Agrawal, owner of Allmin Resources Ireland Limited, on Tuesday.Speaking at a seminar organized by the ladies wing of Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) on ‘Life of an immigrant entrepreneur with focus on exports and the challenges of international business at Udyog Bhavan auditorium, Civil Lines, Agrawal said, “Ireland is a hidden gem in the European Union. It is a perfect place to start your own venture.”Highlighting the administrative complications that one faces to register a business in India, she said she got her company registered in Ireland in 48 hours. In India, it would have taken a month or two, she added.Agrawal emphasized the importance of sustainable competitive advantage in the market, manufacturing products of superior quality, reliability and perfection, which are hallmarks of uniqueness.Addressing the gathering, Balwant Singh Rawat, founder of Think Value Creations, said budding entrepreneurs should always study the pros and cons before initiating a start-up as they are prone to commit mistakes due to a number of reasons.Rawat said inaccurate market research and idea validation, misunderstanding start-ups and businesses, tactless resource-based planning, hiring a passion distorter and not defining key responsibilities among co-workers are some of the blunders the aspiring entrepreneurs commit.“There are certain disadvantages to being democratic at the workplace. The areas of work and pay should be distributed appropriately,” he said. Proper identification of clients who are willing to promote the company based on customer satisfaction will do well to cut down on marketing costs, he added.Rawat exhorted the aspiring enterprisers to undertake frequent training programmes, read books and listen to podcasts in order to proliferate business acumen.Members of VIA Anita Rao, Manisha Bawankar, Reeta Lanjewar and Prafulata Rode were present.(Reporting by Manshika Vaikkath)
