Nagpur: Even as state machinery is working on war-footing to finalize the list of beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri KIsan SAmman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) by February 26, not all farmers having land holding of less than five acres will get the benefit of Rs6,000 per year.The state government, on Friday, issued a circular detailing eligibility criteria, excluded categories, definition of family and local level committees to look after the implementation of the scheme, that was announced in the Union Budget 2019.As per the circular, present and former MPs, MLAs, ZP chairpersons, civic chiefs, professionals like doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants, and architects registered with professional bodies have been kept out of this scheme. Also, if any member of a farmer family is serving or is retired officer and employee of central/ state government or drawing pension of more than Rs10,000, then the family will not be covered under the scheme. Those who have paid income tax for last assessment year will be ineligible for the scheme.Revenue and agriculture departments have started a survey to find out eligible families. “Agriculture officials are working across the division on village-level committees. We are going through online revenue records along with that with the talathis and other officials. Additional information like phone numbers, Aadhaar details, and bank account numbers is being collected. This information will be used while finalizing the list,” said joint director (agriculture) for Nagpur division, Ravindra Bhonsale.Final list of beneficiaries will be out on website by first week of March. First instalment of Rs2,000 will be credited to bank accounts of farmers before March 31. “We are planning to publish interim list of beneficiaries at village-level by February 20. This list will be available at respective gram panchayats and modifications could be done in it.
