Nagpur: The special court of Judge AS Qazi on Friday framed charges against Ganesh Sahu, his wife Gudiya and two others for their alleged role behind the murder of Usha Kamble and her granddaughter Rashi on February 17 last year. There was also much drama in the courtroom after Gudiya started denying to accept the charges.The court is learnt to have now scheduled March 1 for the start os hearing in the case. Amid chaos, it’s learnt that the defence counsel too withdrew his consent to represent the Sahus. The state was represented by District government pleader Nitin Telgote and assisted by private counsel Sameer Sonwane volunteering for the Kambles.In July last year, special public prosecutor in the case Ujjwal Nikam had presented the court a copy of the draft charges. Now, the court read out the charges of murder, criminal conspiracy among others along with the Scheduled tribes and Scheduled castes (prevention of atrocity) Act against the Sahus.Usha was mother of journalist Ravikant. Rashi, murdered at the age of one-and-half, was one of the twins of Ravikant who too had been brutally killed. The bodies were later dumped in a nullah near Amar Nagar. Ganesh, with the help of others, had murdered Usha and Rashi following a heated tiff with the elderly woman over monetary issues. The double murder had created a ripple in city.
