Nagpur: A wheelchair-bound physically challenged man was handed over to Ganeshpeth police by alert citizens after he was caught exposing himself to a 11-year-old girl.Thirty-year-old Luv Devangan was caught red-handed making the demeaning gesture towards the 11-year-old survivor. The survivor, a student of standard V, was going to board her autorickshaw when Devangan allegedly exposed himself and drew her attention by whistling at her.Sources in the police station said the survivor had stepped out of school along with others. She was heading towards the adjacent lane, where her autorickshaw driver was waiting. Devangan, seated on his wheelchair, gestured at the survivor and misbehaved with her.As the scared survivor started scampering away, Devangan followed her, but she got support from her autorickshaw driver. Alerted by the survivor, the autorickshaw driver called out to other drivers, who rushed to nab Devangan before he could manage to sneak away on his wheelchair. The drivers alerted the survivor’s teacher, who informed her family.After the family arrived, the survivor was taken to Ganeshpeth police station to lodge a complaint. Devangan too was taken to police station by the cops after citizens alerted them. After lodging the complaint, police charged Devangan with outraging modesty and invoked provisions of the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
