Central team inspects VRDL site at GMCH

“It will be a state-level virology excellence centre and will be constructed in the premises available at the laboratory department of the GMCH. Nagpur: A two-member team from department of Health and Research of Central Government visited the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Monday and conducted inspection of space and infrastructure for Viral Research and Diagnostic Lab (VRDL) proposed to be established in the premises.GMC Dean Dr Abhimanyu Niswade said that central team was very positive about facilities available at the GMC. Diagnosis of 15 viral diseases like swine flu and bird flu could be conducted right here in the GMC after construction of the lab,” said Niswade.The centrally funded lab will cost around Rs1.50 crore.
