NMC unions enter verbal argument after failure to convince administration

Nagpur: Office bearers of two employees’ unions of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) reportedly entered into a verbal argument after their failure to get fulfil demands from the administration and office bearers. Bangar assured implementation of 7th pay commission but remained silent over release of arrears of 6th pay commission citing financial crisis.Representatives of Nagpur Mahanagarpalika Karmachari-Shikshak Sanghatna Samanvay Samiti were firm on their demands. After the meeting, representatives of two associations entered into verbal argument as Lokranti Panel differed from demands of Nagpur Mahanagarpalika Karmachari-Shikshak Sanghatna Samanvay Samiti.Upset over no conclusion, Nagpur Mahanagarpalika Karmachari-Shikshak Sanghatna Samanvay Samiti has decided one-day strike and demonstration including tonsuring heads at RBI square on February 27. One union took a decision of strike and demonstration on February 27.An association of 13 unions — Nagpur Mahanagarpalika Karmachari-Shikshak Sanghatna Samanvay Samiti — had warned of strike from January 21 to press for various demands including release of arrears of 6th pay commission, implementation of 7th pay commission etc.Taking cognisance of the demands, mayor Nanda Jichkar, municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar and ruling party leader Sandip Joshi organized a meeting on Tuesday at the NMC head office.Around 20 activists from the association and another union- Lokranti Panel, an association linked with ruling party-BJP, were present in the meeting.
