Mob thrashes security guard, breaks 20 Aapli buses in Dhantoli

Nagpur: A mob of 8-10 people reportedly vandalised and broke the window panes of more than 20 Aapli buses parked in Patwardhan ground depot on Sunday night. The miscreants were armed with rods, knifes and lakhis who allegedly thrashed the security guard, present during the incident. “The hoodlums broke the wind screens and rear window panes of 20 buses with lathis and stones. The incident happened at around 9.30pm on Sunday night. A report has been lodged with Dhantoli police station,” said Neelmani Gupta, contractor of buses. Subsequently the NMC administration was informed about the incident, he added. According to a local source, at 9pm one driver was going to park his bus in the depot and while taking a turn near BJP office, Dhantoli one electric wire fell on the bus rood and later it fell on a car and some other vehicles on the road. This led to a heated argument with local people and the bus driver. The matter further escalated as the bus driver left the bus there and went into depot. After one hour, some local youth, entered the depot armed with rods, lathis etc and beat up supervisor and guard. Subsequently they vandalised the buses and escaped. While leaving the depot they also broke the wind screen of car bearing number MH/31/CN/3503. Later they also broke side window panes and rear window panes.
