Bail plea in Brahmos info leak to be heard today

Agarwal was arrested under the Official Secrets Act from Nagpur in October last year by the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh police.He was employed at BAPL’s unit at Butibori.

Since Agarwal was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police, he was shifted to Lucknow, where he was presented before the court. It has been learnt that the charge sheet against him has not been filed in the Lucknow court, which has transferred the matter to Nagpur on the grounds that the jurisdiction was in the city. A source in the know of affairs said a fresh bail application can be moved in the court at Nagpur if the defence counsel has new facts related to the case.Agarwal was a systems engineer at BAPL which is a highly sensitive defence establishment. Official documents related to designs were found in his personal laptop. ATS had also reported that Agarwal was entrapped by Pakistani intelligence operatives, who had created Facebook IDs in the name of Indian girls. He had also clicked on links sent by one the operatives, which gave them access to his personal computer, which contained official information not supposed to be there in the device.
