Nagpur: A speeding car knocked a motorcycle borne youth to death late Thursday night. The incident occurred at Kanhan bridge. The youth, a resident of Kamptee, was returning home from Kanhan after finishing some personal work. While he was passing through Kanhan bridge, a speeding car coming from behind hit him. As a result, the youth along with his bike fell in the river and he died on the spot. The car was also partially damaged in the mishap. Hundreds of residents gathered on the river bank condemning the authorities for inordinate delay in completing the work of the parallel bridge. They prevented police from taking the bodies to the Government Hospital for post-mortem. However, the identity of the deceased could not be established so far. Senior police officers of Nagpur Rural rushed to the spot to pacify the angry mob. Vehicular traffic on the highway was thrown out of gear till midnight.
