Staff Reporter :Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) that now stands revived has finalised an outlay of Rs 606.96 crore for the next financial year 2021-22. Various development works: In the financial year 2021-22 under the head of various development works and asphalting of roads a provision of Rs 60 crore is marked. This includes Rs 31 crore Rs 18 crore and Rs 6 crore from the funds received from the Department of Minerals for various development works. Further Rs 30 crore has been provided for various development works that will be carried out from this fund.

Staff Reporter : Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) that now stands revived has finalised an outlay of Rs 606.96 crore for the next financial year 2021-22. A meeting of Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday under Chairmanship of Manoj Kumar Suryawanshi that approved the budget. Compared to current year wherein the outlay was estimated at Rs 311.30 crore the increased outlay for the current year indicates a growing confidence among NIT and it may slowly gain back its prominence in days to come if the trend continues. The main highlight is provision for providing 7th pay commission recommendation for the NITs staff. The Board of Trustee has accepted creating a provision of Rs 75 crore under Establishment Expenditure. The 7th Pay is as per the directives of State Government Resolution and benefits would be applicable to all serving officers/ employees and also to those who have retired. The other major highlight of the budget is housing for which a provision of Rs 100 crore is kept. NIT proposed to invest in new housing projects that would come up on its land holdings. Right now NIT is undertaking Housing for All Project of Central Government wherein it constructed budget flats on its land parcels located on the outskirts of city. Unauthorised Layouts Development: Under the Gunthewari Scheme NIT intends to provide all the basic civic amenities through various developments. A modest sum of Rs 70 crore is kept aside for the purpose and that too from the funds that is going to be received from the people in unauthorised layouts. These layouts are in 572 and 1900 that were created prior to year 2001 in various parts of the city. Various development works: In the financial year 2021-22 under the head of various development works and asphalting of roads a provision of Rs 60 crore is marked. Works from Government funds: Dalit Vasti Sudhar Yojana MP funds and MLA funds under important Government programmes as well as work under special Government Grant Scheme Rs 107 crore has been provided. This includes Rs 31 crore Rs 18 crore and Rs 6 crore from the funds received from the Department of Minerals for various development works. Further Rs 30 crore has been provided for various development works that will be carried out from this fund. As per the budget estimate NIT expects total accruings to be around Rs. 606.96 crore in which there is carry over of surplus from the ongoing financial year and capital deposit are Rs 374.26 crore Revenue Deposit Rs 133.78 crore and Rs 47.70 crore deposits is going to accrue from advances and interest. Compared to last year NIT has increased the capital expenditure in the financial year 2021-22 to Rs. 374.47 crore Revenue expenditure to Rs. 145.34 crore and Rs. 83.07 crore are going to be received through advances and deposits and hence it has earmarked 602.88 crore for various development works. During the last budget a sum of Rs 308.47 crore was assigned under various heads. In the financial year 2021-22 Rs. 125 crore is expected through lease of plots and shops Rs 75 crore is expected and Rs 60 crore is going to be utilised for asphalting of roads. Similarly it has kept aside Rs 10 crore for taking-up construction of buildings in two divisions. Similarly during the next financial year from Rs 107.49 crore construction of e-library at Manewada development of Islamic Culture Centre works under Maharashtra Suvarna Jayanti Nagarothan Abhiyaan projects under MPLAD and MLAD funds are proposed. NIT Trustees including Vijay Zalke Bhushan Shingare Rajendra Lande Joint Director Town Planning Lalit Raut Executive Officer. Leena Upadhye Superintending Engineer Supriya Jadhav Chief Accounts and Finance Officer Yashwant Dhore Accounts Officer and Rajesh Kathwate Section Engineer were present at the meeting of Board of Trustees.
