Nagpur distt witnesses corona spike; 1179 new cases in one single dayPrincipal Correspondent :Nagpur district has witnessed torrent of coronavirus cases on Wednesday as 1179 persons tested positive for this dreaded virus in one single day. Number of new cases in Nagpur rural also crossed 200 mark after over 6 months as 224 tested positive for coronavirus. Nagpur rural witnessed 4110 testing while city registered 6474 testing. Nagpur rural is witnessing single or zero death and Wednesday was no exception. Apart from the samples of Nagpur district the people from Nagpur and out of city approached various laboratories in Nagpur to get themselves examined.

Nagpur distt witnesses corona spike; 1179 new cases in one single day Principal Correspondent : Nagpur district has witnessed torrent of coronavirus cases on Wednesday as 1179 persons tested positive for this dreaded virus in one single day. The district crossed 1000 mark after months. Number of new cases in Nagpur rural also crossed 200 mark after over 6 months as 224 tested positive for coronavirus. Nagpur city reported huge 955 new cases taking the cumulative number to 144783. Number of testing in one single day too is increasing. On Wednesday also 10584 testing registered. Nagpur rural witnessed 4110 testing while city registered 6474 testing. This has taken the cumulative testing number to 1197789. Number of recoveries is constantly crossing 400 mark. On Wednesday too 455 became corona-free but still the recovery is low as compared to persons testing COVID 19 positive. This is evident from the fact that recovery rate is registering constant dip. Todays COVID 19 recovery rate was 92.12%. Low recovery is resulting in rise in active cases. On Wednesday the active cases rose to 7184. Number of COVID 19 deaths too has increased to 8 taking the cumulative death count to 3550. Nagpur rural is witnessing single or zero death and Wednesday was no exception. But citys death count increased to 7 in one single day. The samples examined through RT PCR were 7366 while 3218 were through Rapid Antigen Test. Apart from the samples of Nagpur district the people from Nagpur and out of city approached various laboratories in Nagpur to get themselves examined. The samples came for examination at various laboratories in Nagpur include virology laboratory of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH) (1344) Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) (1227) molecular diagnostic laboratory of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) (757) National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) (247) Centre for Zoonosis Nagpur Veterinary College affiliated to Maharashtra Animal Fisheries Sciences University (MAFSU) (0) Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) (479) private laboratories (3312) Antigen (3217).
