CP Amitesh Kumar to re-open files of unsolved murder casesAmitesh KumarStaff Reporter :With an aim to solve murder mysteries and put the criminals behind the bars Commissioner of Police (CP) Amitesh Kumar is taking review of unsolved murder cases that were reported in last 10 years. “We will scan all the evidences available in the murder cases and activate informers to identify the criminals in these murder case” the CP said while interacting with mediapersons on Tuesday. It may be mentioned here that around 98 per cent murder cases were detected and culprits were arrested by the police over the years. The Police Commissioner has directed all the police stations to compile detailed information of undetected murder cases and investigation done by the police. “Our aim is to vaccinate maximum number of police personnel by this week” CP Amitesh Kumar said.

It may be mentioned here that around 98 per cent murder cases were detected and culprits were arrested by the police over the years. Some cases remain unsolved in the absence of evidences or failure of investigators. The Police Commissioner has directed all the police stations to compile detailed information of undetected murder cases and investigation done by the police. After receiving the information the CP will reliant investigation with the help of Crime Branch. He also asked for the documents of a murder that was reported in Sonegaon police station area in 2014. A human skeleton was found packed in a sack that was dumped in a nullah. Similarly the CP has also opened file of a murder of a criminal that was reported in 2012. The CP said that no one could dare to imagine that he can do anything wrong with people and police will not do anything to him. “The rule of law will uphold in the city by putting the culprits behind the bars” he claimed. Priority to police vaccination A total of 42 police personnel are active Covid-19 patients in the city. The city police has given priority for vaccination. “Our aim is to vaccinate maximum number of police personnel by this week” CP Amitesh Kumar said.
