Staff Reporter & Hingna Correspondent :Deceased kids were playing in the water in absence of parentsA minor brother-sister duo drowned in a nullah in the Hingna area. The siblings identified as Abhishek Vilas Raut (7) and his sister Aarushi Vilas Raut (10) belonged to Amgaon Deoli village in Hingna tehsil. While playing near the nullah they ventured into the water and drowned informed Sr Police Inspector Sarin Durge of Hingna Police Station. The siblings drowned after venturing into the pit in the nullah a police official said.

The siblings identified as Abhishek Vilas Raut (7) and his sister Aarushi Vilas Raut (10) belonged to Amgaon Deoli village in Hingna tehsil. While playing near the nullah they ventured into the water and drowned informed Sr Police Inspector Sarin Durge of Hingna Police Station. PI Durge said parents of the kids are labourers. Ancestral business of the Raut family was fishing. They had only two children. As the school was closed the children stayed at home as usual. On Sunday while their parents had gone to work the kids went near the nullah to play. The kids were eager to catch fish from the nullah. They took off their clothes and slippers on the bank of the nullah and ventured into the water. They got stuck in the mud and were unable to come out of the nullah. As the spot was isolated no one heard their screams and the kids drowned in the nullah. After returning home at 6 pm the parents did not see the children at the house. They searched across the village for the kids. After spending the night in anxiety the villagers again conducted searches on Monday morning and found their clothes on the bank of the nullah. The information was given to the Hinga Police. The police led by PI Durge rushed to the spot and called some fishermen. After searching in the water for an hour the fishermen found the bodies in the water. The bodies were fished out and sent to hospital for post-mortem at 12.30 pm. A case of accidental death was registered by the police. The whole village is mourning death of the kids. Cops book two persons In the drowning case two persons were booked by Hingna police on the charges of causing death due to negligence. The accused are identified as Suresh Jyotiram Maliye (38) and Swadip Bharatsingh Maliye (28) both residents of Amgaon Deoli Higna. According to police the accused operate a brick kiln near the nullah. “They dug a pit in the nullah so that they could fetch water for their work. The siblings drowned after venturing into the pit in the nullah a police official said. A case under Sections 304 (a) and 34 of IPC was registered by Higna police. Further investigations are on.
