Voluntary resource sharing programme between CBSE and state schools likely soon

Pardhi said, "It will be a completely voluntary programme where CBSE schools will themselves approach us and forward an invitation. Schools had been asked to garner funds using donations from socially responsible individuals or NGOs.Pardhi's proposed resource sharing with CBSE schools is on the same line but does not involve any financial transaction or tangible resource transfer. In this programme, there will be no compulsion on CBSE schools to participate, in fact we won't even be checking with them if they are conducting any seminars etc. This means that state students may be able to learn nuances of English language from Cambridge University professors, math from top notch IITians and arts and drama from national awardees. Nagpur: While the cold war between state education department and CBSE schools has long been in the news, a unique proposal may now find both working together for the benefit of students. Nagpur division's top boss for state education dept Anil Pardhi is proposing a voluntary resource sharing programme between CBSE and state schools which will provide the latter access to nationally and internationally renowned teachers, speakers and artists.Under the proposal, which is still in a nascent stage, CBSE schools will provide free access to select group of state board teachers and/or students to the workshops conducted by them in city. This means that state students may be able to learn nuances of English language from Cambridge University professors, math from top notch IITians and arts and drama from national awardees. Pardhi said, "It will be a completely voluntary programme where CBSE schools will themselves approach us and forward an invitation. The larger picture is that we as a community come together and share resources which will benefit talented students who would otherwise not have had access to such events." He added that already a popular CBSE school has expressed interest in the idea.CBSE schools with their financial wherewithal are in a better position to organize such events on a regular basis. The state government is already pushing to raise the academic bar for students in English and Math under the Chief Minister's initiated programme called 'Pragat Shaikshanik Maharashtra'. While the state has already planned its course of action to achieve those goals, any helping hand is obviously helpful. The state itself has stressed on the need to involve corporates and NGOs under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme to ensure that state board schools get the required infrastructure to achieve their academic goals. Earlier this year, the state asked all schools to install Smart TVs in every class so that the digital classroom concept gets a push. Schools had been asked to garner funds using donations from socially responsible individuals or NGOs.Pardhi's proposed resource sharing with CBSE schools is on the same line but does not involve any financial transaction or tangible resource transfer. Pardhi said, "It's what we can call knowledge sharing between members of the same community. In this programme, there will be no compulsion on CBSE schools to participate, in fact we won't even be checking with them if they are conducting any seminars etc. If at all any school wishes that local, talented and even under- privileged kids should benefit from any event they are organizing, then they can get in touch with us."
