City cops conduct full dress rehearsal for President’s visit

Nagpur: Ahead of President Ram Nath Kovind’s day-long visit to Nagpur, city police carried out a full dress rehearsal on Thursday. The President is arriving in city by special Indian Air Force plane at 10 am on Friday, September 22. Apart from police department, the district administration is leaving no stone unturned to make the President’s maiden visit to Orange City successful one. Kovind will go to Ramtek by a helicopter to visit Shri Shantinath Jain Temple at 11.35 am. For security of President in Ramtek, Inspector General Prakash Mutyal and SP Shailesh Balkawde have been assigned the responsibility for the bandobast.

Nagpur: Ahead of President Ram Nath Kovind’s day-long visit to Nagpur, city police carried out a full dress rehearsal on Thursday. The President is arriving in city by special Indian Air Force plane at 10 am on Friday, September 22. Tight security is in place as the city has turned into a fortress. Police teams are keeping a close watch on the activities on the routes the President will take for attending various programmes. To guard the President, a strong force of policemen including 10 Deputy Commissioners of Police, 13 ACPs, 56 Police Inspectors, 165 APIs, 1500 PSIs/ASIs, 1500 personnel and 18 Bomb Squads would be dotting the streets and venues of the programmes. For security of President in Ramtek, Inspector General Prakash Mutyal and SP Shailesh Balkawde have been assigned the responsibility for the bandobast. Apart from police department, the district administration is leaving no stone unturned to make the President’s maiden visit to Orange City successful one. After arriving at city’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport at 10 am, the President will first drive to Deekshabhoomi at 10.30 am to pay respects to Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Kovind will go to Ramtek by a helicopter to visit Shri Shantinath Jain Temple at 11.35 am. The President will fly to Kamptee by helicopter to inaugurate Dragon Palace Vipassana Meditation Centre at Kamptee at 12.55 pm. He will attend a special ‘Buddha Vandana’ at Dragon Palace Temple before the inauguration of the meditation centre. He will return to Nagpur by helicopter at 2.20 pm and stay at Raj Bhavan till 4 pm. The President will inaugurate Kavi Suresh Bhat Cultural Hall at Reshimbagh at 4.15 pm. At 5 pm, he will leave for Nagpur Airport. Kovind will leave for New Delhi at 5.25 pm by the special aircraft of Indian Air Force.
