Traditional procession is organized from Wakdi Barav in the old Nashik city area to Ramkund.“The procession on Monday saw a huge turnout of participants and it was not possible to take the traditional route that passes through narrow lanes of the old city,” said Hiray.The MLC said that the organisers had also given the option of procession from the venue till Shivaji Maharaj stadium opposite the district collectorate. Both the ministers were present at the ground. “We requested police to give us permission for the small route as well, but they even rejected that.”Hiray claimed that minister of state for defence Subhash Bhamre, district guardian minister Girish Mahajan too were part of the procession.Reacting to the claims of the BJP MLC, police sources said that there was no instruction from the government to allow the change of route of the procession.“Hence, police have booked them.
