Ravija Singal is youngest Half Iron Lady of Nashik

Nashik: Ravija Singal (18) became the youngest ‘Half Iron Lady’ of the city during an event held in New Delhi on Sunday.Sharing her experience with TOI over the phone from Delhi, Ravija said she completed the event in the stipulated time of nine hours, and was first to complete 1.9km swimming in 33 minutes, 90km cycling in 4.50hrs and rest of the time in running 21 km.“Running long distance is my weakness. Till date I have been a national-level swimmer and short distance sprinter.

It was a planned event and I trained only for three months,” she said, adding that her father supports her a lot.The sportsperson said she works out for six days and that the Delhi event was different and most tedious.Running biomechanics and scientific approaches were incorporated in her training by her coach Mustafa and by Dr. Milind Pimprikar because of which Ravija could complete the event without any injuries and recovered well.Ravija has now set her sights on Full Iron Lady event to be held in August.
