NASHIK: Students of Electrical Engineering Department Sandip Institute of Techology and Research Centre has manufactured an affordable electric bicycle which uses dynamo to charge its batteries instead of using rate of electricity from the distribution board.A USB charge controller will also be included in the bicycle in addition to a full sized “socket outlet” enabling its riders to charge their mobile phones.The students have claimed that the manufacturing cost of the e-bicycle is low as compared to other similar bikes available in the market.A fully sustainable electric self-charging bicycle will not only addresses drawbacks of a conventional bicycle but it includes features to make it more appealing to the people.Students of BE 8th semester namely Chetan Gosavi, Bhushan Chopade, Tukaram Mali, Ganesh Tupe and Vishal Abhale manufactured this bicycle under the guidance of Prof Dr PG Burade and Prof Nitin Patil.
