Eight killed as SUV rams into state transport bus near Nashik

It jumped the divider and rammed head-on into the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation bus heading for Nandurbar.Another car travelling behind the bus also hit it. Passengers of this car and the bus driver were injured and admitted to various hospitals.The villagers of Kikvari and Munjawad were on their way to Nashik to the marriage in four vehicles. Around 11 am, the tyre of the vehicle allegedly burst and the driver lost control of the vehicle. Threee of the seriously injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital. NASHIK: Eight people were killed and eight others injured when the sports utility vehicle (SUV) in which they were travelling rammed into a state transport bus coming from the opposite direction.Six persons were killed on the spot and two others succumbed to injuries at the Civil Hospital in Nashik , said the police.The travellers in the SUV were going from Kikvari village in Baglan taluka to Nashik for a marriage when the accident occurred at Shirvade Vani Phata near Chandwad, 40 km from Nashik, on the Mumbai-Agra Road.

While the men were seated in three vehicles, the vehicle with the women met with the accident.The deceased have been identified as Dhanubai Keda Kakulte, Tejashree Sahebrao Shinde, Krishnabai Bapu Shinde and Saraswati Nathu Jagtap, all residents of Kikvari village, Baglan taluka; Ratna Rajendra Gangurde from Dang Saundane and Ashok Gangurde from Kalwan who was the driver of the four-wheeler, assistant police inspector, Nitin Patil said.Siddhi Vinayak More (12) and Shobha Santosh Pagare (42) from Munjawad village, Baglan, died at the hospital.The locals quickly rushed to the accident spot with an ambulance and police teams and took the injured to the Pimpalgaon primary health centre. Threee of the seriously injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital.
