Six injured in yet another Shivshahi mishap in region

On Friday, a Shivshahi bus had met with a mishap in Jalgaon district.According to MSRTC officials, 12 of the 73 Shivshahi buses running in the division have met with accidents ever since the buses were launched in October last year.Viraj Kulthe, a frequent traveller by Shivshahi buses, said commuters were concerned by the frequent mishaps involving MSRTC buses.The officials said none of the mishaps were due to mechanical snags. “It was due to the fault of drivers,” they said.The officials said that in case of serious accidents, the driver is put off steering duty for eight days, if the accident is of lower intensity, the drivers is grounded for two to three days, during which he has to undergo training. Nashik: At least six passengers were injured when a Shivshahi air-conditioned semi-luxury bus met with an accident in Satana taluka of Nashik district.Four of the injured are undergoing treatment at a government hospital at Malegaon and their condition is stated to be stable.The incident occurred on Sunday at 10.30am when the Nandurbar-bound bus from Nashik collided head on with a tanker coming from the opposite direction.“The bus met with the accident at Karanjad village, about 107km from Nashik,” an official from the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation said.While the front portion of the bus was damaged, the tanker turned turtle after the mishap.This is the second mishap in as many days in Nashik region involving Shivshahi buses.
