Nashik prison keeps inmate beyond jail term, to pay Rs 10,000

Thus, illegal detention of the petitioner is apparent on the face of record,” the bench said.The court went on to state that it was always open for the state government to recover the amount of compensation from the erring officer, after fixing liability.Ganesh Motipawle (57), a resident of Udgir in Latur district , was convicted by a judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) court Udgir in May 2015 under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 and was sentenced to one-month jail and ordered to pay a compensation of Rs 3.5 lakh.
