North Maharashtra likely to receive heavy rainfall in next 48 hours IMD

According to it, many places in North-Central Maharashtra will receive rainfall on August 8 and 9 while some places will receive rain on August 10, 11 and 12. Places like Jalgaon and Malegaon, which have been witnessing dry weather for the past many days, may receive one or two spells of good rainfall. However, the situation will not be a prolonged affair.After 24 hours, the system will weaken and move further west leading to decrease in rainfall. Therefore, by August 10, rainfall will once again witness a significant dip over the region. Nashik: After witnessing dry spell for over 10 days, the already parched region of North Maharashtra has hopes of monsoon revival in the next 48 hours.Thanks to the fresh depression formed in the Bay of Bengal, rainfall is likely to increase over parts of North Madhya Maharashtra.

Places like Jalgaon and Malegaon, which have been witnessing dry weather for the past many days, may receive one or two spells of good rainfall. On the other hand, they will continue to receive light rain and drizzle that it has been receiving since last three-four days.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall in Jalgaon and Malegaon on Wednesday and Thursday while for Nashik it will be cloudy sky with moderate rain. The maximum temperatures in both Jalgaon and Malegaon were recorded 2 degrees below normal on Wednesday suggesting that favourable conditions for the rainfall are building in the region.According to Skymet, a well-marked low pressure area which was over Northwest Bay of Bengal has intensified into depression and is lying over Interior parts of Odisha. “This weather system will move in a west northwest direction and may bring rain to Chhatisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and adjacent parts of Maharashtra,” said the notification on skymet.“Nashik’s maximum temperature was at 26.8 degrees celsius, a degree below normal, on Wednesday. The city received 0.7 mm rainfall between 8.30am and 5.30 pm. Similar conditions are expected to continue for the next two days,” R B Mankar, senior official at the weather observatory in Nashik, said.The Agro Weather Section of IMD Pune has issued a forecast up to August 12 for entire state. According to it, many places in North-Central Maharashtra will receive rainfall on August 8 and 9 while some places will receive rain on August 10, 11 and 12.
