Implementation of different projects have been suffering following severe financial constrain. The previous regime of the civic body was unable to ensure proper financial support to JCMC either from the Centre or the state government.During the polls, the state water resources minister and in-charge of the civic polls, Girish Mahajan, had promised to the voters that there would be adequate flow of funds from the government for the proper development of the Jalgaon city, which is the home turf of Mahajan. The Jalgaon city MLA and the city BJP president, Suresh Bhole, said that henceforth there would be no dearth of funds from the government for the Jalgaon city’s development.“Our chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis, had promised to provide financial assistance to JCMC for improving the basic infrastructure of the city. And he has kept his promise. I am confident that more funds will be made available for the civic body in future,” added Bhole. He, however, expressed concern about the present financial health of JCMC.“The issue of huge amount of loan that JCMC has to repay to the different financial institutions has to be resolved on a priority basis. For over a decade the previous regime has not done anything to make the civic body financial stable,” added the BJP MLA.
