Nashik: Worry not if rain has ruined your plans of pandal hopping this Ganeshotsav. Two young techies from Nashik will bring 3D darshan of Lord Ganesh to your smartphones.Krishna Lodha and Yash Kumat, both in their mid thirties, have started a unique platform where leading Ganeshotsav pandals can be visited online. One has to log on to http://www.wholespace3d.com/ and click ‘Nashik Che Gapati 3D Darshan’ link. A map of Nashik city will pop up, which pins locations of temples and pandals as ‘modaks’. Each modak takes the users to the respective Ganesha pandal or temple. Here, users can view 3D photographs of pandal, decoration, tableaux, and lighting.Lodha, who works in the field of 3D graphics for USA-based companies, came up with this concept after he missed Nashik’s Ganeshotsav last year. “I was in the USA last year during Ganeshotsav and missed the entire celebrations in Nashik. That was when I concieved the idea of bringing online darshan,” he says. This year, Lodha and his IT developer friend Yash Kumat took the 3D pictures of more than 22 prominent Ganeshotsav pandals and temples in city on September 15 and launched this service on their website. These include Navashya Ganpati Mandir, Silver Ganesha of Ravivar Karanja, Sakshi Ganpati in old city, pandal of College Road Mitra Mandal, Manacha Raja at Ashok Sthambh, Bhagwati Anandwalli Mitra Mandal and many others.During the immersion procession, they are planning to make a 3D live streaming of the main procession that passes through old city. “We had planned to capture 3D pictures of many more pandals. But, the 3D video will be more interesting concept. So, we decided to bring Nashik’s first 3D live streaming this Sunday,” said Lodha. Apart from live streaming, the 3D footage of procession will be available on the website for free.Encouraged by the response, the duo has announced their next event too. “Our next event will be to map all ‘Dandiya’ events in Nashik. We will try to create more interactive map with features such as routing from your location to venue, nearby hospitals, etc,” said Yash, adding, “Those who loved this little experiment can reach us for valuable suggestions/reviews and feedback.”
