Nashik: A woman pillion rider was killed after she fell off the motorcycle, which hit a cow that suddenly came in their way.The 50-year-old victim, identified as Nisha Joshi, resident of Mohadi village of Dindori taluka, was going to a relative’s place at Indiranagar on Wednesday night when the accident occurred.According to the Bhadrakali police, where the case of accidental death has been registered, the woman was riding pillion on the motorcycle being driven by her nephew.“They started from Panchavati and as the motorcycle neared Modakeshwar Mandir, a cow came in the middle of the road. The nephew tried to avoid the cattle but dashed the vehicle against it. Both of them were thrown on the road. The nephew was received some injuries, but the woman received severe head injuries,” the police said.The woman was first rushed to civil hospital and then to Adgaon medical college, where she succumbed to the injuries.In another accident on Nashik–Pune road, a 73-year-old person was killed when an unknown vehicle knocked him down near Kamath Hotel, Nashik Road.
