Biding adieu to Ganpati Bappa was about tears and joy for Nashikites. The immersion procession started in city with Dhol pathaks, Sanai, sambal among other instruments . Citizens also had planned various other activities during the procession.A group of students also used the opportunity to raise awareness about importance of wearing a helmet. This group performed at the immersion procession wearing helmet which had people thronging to watch.Besides, other troops like mardani khel , mallkhamb etc. also caught attention of the devotees who gathered to see the immersion procession. Interestingly, foreigners also become a part of the festival were seen enjoying and participating in the procession.Ganpati idols were immersed at the various places in the city. Volunteers deployed at the various natural water bodies were appealing citizens to immerse the idols in artificial tanks instead to avoid water pollution. To avoid pollution, around one lakh Nashikites donated Ganesh idols instead of opting for immersion.
