Nashik: The district election office (DEO) has invited political parties for the demonstration-cum-training of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) that include ballot, control units and VVPAT, at the central warehousing corporation, Ambad.The first level checking (FLC) of Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines that have been kept at CWC, Ambad has been completed. The ECI has to be informed when these machines are to be moved, an official at the CWC said.Now these machines will undergo a second level checking before being used in election process.

Nashik: The district election office (DEO) has invited political parties for the demonstration-cum-training of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) that include ballot, control units and VVPAT, at the central warehousing corporation, Ambad.The first level checking (FLC) of Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines that have been kept at CWC, Ambad has been completed. Nashik district received 9,722 ballot units (BU) and 5479 control units (CU) along with 5,400 VVPATs as part of the EVM from the Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), as per the orders of Election Commission of India (ECI).“During the FLC, the district administration had called political parties, but there was hardly any response. Very few of them had come during the demo,” an ECI official said.The demo, the official said, was for asserting the political parties about the authenticity of the EVMs and about the process that is being carried out before, during and post elections.Every machine has a unique identity number, which is registered with the election commission along with the location of the machine. The ECI has to be informed when these machines are to be moved, an official at the CWC said.Now these machines will undergo a second level checking before being used in election process.
