Identify land for defence in four months High court to government

If necessary, the cost can be recovered from PCMC, the order stated.PCMC had initially prepared a plan for a 192m-long bridge on Mula river with 547m approach road at Bopkhel. But the length was increased to 1,040m after the irrigation department said there must be no abutment of the bridge and filling in the blue floodline. The PCMC had sent the new plan to the defence authorities for approval.Rajendra Pawar, defence estate officer, Pune circle, had sent a letter to the PCMC in April, stating that the value of the land needed for the bridge and the road was Rs25.81 crore. The standing committee a resolution in this regard.Bopkhel resident and Shiv Sena leader Mangala Ghule, a respondent in the Bopkhel case, said, “The bridge and the road will end the villagers’ hardships.”Gulab Bhalerao of Bopkhel Gaon Rasta Sangharsha Samiti, said “We have received empty assurances from authorities.”
