MP Godse flags off Rajdhani Exp from Nashik Rd

Nashik: The Rajdhani Express was received at the Nashik Road station with a lot of pomp and show. Many citizens were present to witness the train being flagged off on its maiden run from Nashik.The Rajdhani Express, for the first time ran through Nashik and Bhusawal division of the railways. The train will reach Nashik Road at 5:56 pm and New Delhi at 10.25 am next day.The return journeys will commence on Thursdays and Sundays, starting from New Delhi at 3:45pm, reaching Nashik Road station at 8:18am next day.The train will cover a distance of 1,542 km in 20 hours. The citizens from Nashik, Bhusawal and Ahmednagar had been demanding that this train covers their areas for a better connectivity to the national capital.The express train runs between Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station (New Delhi).Member of Parliament, Nashik, Hemant Godse flagged off the train from Nashik on Saturday. He played an important role in connecting Nashik along with Kalyan, Jalgaon and Bhusawal divisions directly to New Delhi.“The Rajdhani Express trains that run via Western Railways served very limited stations of Maharashtra, but, re-routing it through Central Railways would cater to the bigger cities like Nashik and Bhusawal,” Godse said.The train runs from Mumbai to New Delhi twice a week (Wednesday and Saturday).
