"The purpose of making the list available at the election centre was to identify the missing names, the wrongly spelt names, etc. NASHIK: Taking a strong note of some booth level officers allegedly misleading citizens, the district election office on Monday assured electors that they can still register their names till February 28. "The final electors photo roll was announced by the Election Commission of India on January 31. The EROs will be informed to ensure the BLOs convey the right message to the people and encourage enrolment," the officer added. All citizens, who have still not enrolled or have a problem with the name and address, can file in their requests.

They will be included in the supplementary roll," the election officer said.The officer also assured that corrective measures would be taken regarding the misleading done by the booth level officers.A few BLOs were allegedly misleading citizens about filing the forms for enroling their names in the voters' list. They allegedly turned down a few requests and told the citizens that no changes would now be made in the list till the Lok Sabha elections are concluded."The BLOs were told about how the system works and their role after the lists are announced. We request the citizens to get in touch with the tehsildar 's office if they have faced any issues and at the same time register their complaints," the officer said.The BLOs will now be posted at the election centres and they will also be verifying the electors - house to house, ensuring that the electors are living in the houses registered with system."The purpose of making the list available at the election centre was to identify the missing names, the wrongly spelt names, etc. This will enable corrections can be made before the Lok Sabha elections itself," the officer said.The election office would also issue a letter to the electors' registration officers (EROs) to ensure the BLOs do not falter in their work."There are at least 24 days in the hands of citizens to seek redressal of their issue. The EROs will be informed to ensure the BLOs convey the right message to the people and encourage enrolment," the officer added.
