Shankar Mahadevan dedicates new song to River Godavari

NASHIK: Renowned singer Shankar Mahadevan supported the cause of a pollution-free and free-flowing River Godavari on Sunday evening. He performed aarti by the bank at Someshwar and dedicated a song for the river that will be released shortly. I am associated with Namami Goda Foundation and I believe rivers are the pulse of our country," Mahadevan said, thanking the police commissioner for initiating the project. I recorded a song recently on the importance of the Godavari. Previous generations worshipped the river.

The event was broadcast live on his social media page."It is my good luck that I came to Nashik today. I recorded a song recently on the importance of the Godavari. The relationship of human beings with the river has been lost. Previous generations worshipped the river. My song will be ready for release soon. I am associated with Namami Goda Foundation and I believe rivers are the pulse of our country," Mahadevan said, thanking the police commissioner for initiating the project. "Any singer could have sung this song beautifully but I got this opportunity which I consider God's blessing," he said.Namami Goda Foundation, which comprises environment activists, government officials and Marathi actors, is working for the conservation of the river and attempting to spread awareness about the things people can do to save the river.
